Can I be honest with you? We don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. Our relationship is solid, but to us, it’s just another day. I don’t need a day dedicated to love to tell the people I cherish the most how I feel about them. With that said, I’m the first person to bake up a batch of pink cookies or buy us all Valentine-themed pyjamas! We don’t ignore the day, but we don’t do the fancy restaurant, expensive wine, and long-stem roses thing either. The one thing that is constant with us is that we love really good food. And, sometimes – like on Valentine’s Day, for instance – that really good food just happens to be in the form of a cake, cookie, or even ice cream. And, in most cases, those treats are pink! I bake and cook almost every single day, but nothing makes me happier than preparing a full-on, big breakfast! I love breakfast food, but we are not breakfast people. So, in our home, breakfast food is usually served for dinner! Nevertheless, getting up early and making breakfast for your Valentine’s has got to be one of the most romantic gestures!
