Head out to your favourite baking supply shop and select the dried fruits you like the most. While you’re there, pick up some really good melting chocolate too. Once home, you can easily prepare the most delicious and snack-worthy Chocolate Dipped Dried Fruit to gift to your colleagues, friends, family, and neighbours!

First of all, let’s just establish that anything dipped in chocolate is going to be good. I’m sure we can all agree on that – within reason! So, when I was thinking about this holiday series, I thought of how many gift-type recipes have that dipped in chocolate aspect. In our home, we love dried fruit, so it was a no-brainer to combine the two. And, just look at this tray of Chocolate Dipped Dried Fruit! I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t love to dig into a piece or two of that!
Several kinds of nuts and dried fruit can always be found in our pantry or snack cupboard. Not only do I love to bake with them, but John.e loves to snack on them quite often. In this instance, I used only dried fruit, but you can use nuts too. When it comes to dried fruit, for us it has to be dried dates, apricots, strawberries, and cranberries. I’m also a fan of dried ginger, so I put some of those in there for myself.

I’m going to tell you all about this recipe and how you can make it in your home this holiday season, but first, I want to tell you about what you can expect from Lord Byron’s Kitchen this Christmas. I know we’re getting closer to the big day, so it’s time to get to the easier recipes! Before I get into today’s recipe, let me make mention of the five previous holiday confection countdowns that I just finished up this year.
Back in October, I kicked off the holiday season with a holiday recipe series called Lord Byron’s 12 Holiday Trifles Series and followed that up with a second series called Lord Byron’s 12 Holiday Breads and Loaves. Next was a second volume of my 12 Bars and Squares of Christmas! You can find the first bars and squares series here! After that came the seventh annual instalment of Lord Byron’s 24 Cookies of Christmas!
I know we’re getting closer to the big day, which means that most of us will have less time to bake. That is why I’m sharing this new series with you called Lord Byron’s 12 Homemade Holiday Gifts Series! This will be the last series for the 2024 holiday season, so let’s get to it!

LORD BYRON’S 12 SNACKS & TREATS OF CHRISTMAS
Another holiday series, Lord Byron? Yes – why not!? Welcome, Dear Reader, to my last Christmas series this holiday season! I’m calling this series Lord Byron’s 12 Homemade Holiday Gifts Series. Unlike the 24 Cookies of Christmas series that ended a few days ago, this series will focus on easy-to-make snacks and treats that are both delicious and festive.
I will try to keep the recipes in this series quick and easy too. Most of them will require the help of a microwave rather than an oven. And, a bunch of them will involve more assembly-type tasks rather than preheating, beating, whipping, etc.
Just like every other series that I’ve shared here, this series will also see a new snack or treat recipe shared with you, Dear Reader, each and every single day for the next 12 days – even on Saturday and Sunday! You might be asking yourself, how many Christmas recipes could one possibly have or need? Well, I say you can never have too much of a good thing. And, I love having lots of choices. Who wants to prepare the same holiday snacks and treats year after year?

INGREDIENTS NEEDED TO PREPARE THIS RECIPE
The following is a list of the ingredients needed to prepare this recipe. For exact amounts and measurements, refer to the printable recipe card located near the bottom of this post.
- Chocolate Chips – I used both milk and semi-sweet chocolate here because I like to combine them both when melted together.
- White Chocolate – This is optional, but I used a little bit of melted white chocolate to drizzle over the tops of some of the fruit.
- Dried Fruit – Use what you like to eat. I’m using dried apricots, pineapples, dates, strawberries, ginger, and mango.
HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE-DIPPED DRIED FRUIT
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. Combine both the milk and semi-sweet chocolate. Place it into a microwave-safe bowl. In increments of 30 seconds and at half power, microwave the chocolate, stirring well between each increment until the chocolate is smooth and silky.
Dip your choice of dried fruit into the chocolate. You can dip them halfway in or all the way if you use tweezers or small tongs. Place the dipped dried fruits onto the prepared baking sheet and allow the chocolate to set. Repeat the melting process with the white chocolate and drizzle it over all or some of the dried fruit.
Once all of the chocolate has firmed up, transfer the dried fruit to cellophane bags, jars, or a wooden cookie box. Tie them with a ribbon and gift them to your loved ones.

NO-BAKE RECIPES
I used to think that the term no-bake meant that a recipe was more of an assembly-type recipe. Something like a salad, for example. It sounds simple enough, right? Toss the lettuce and any other veggies you want into a bowl. Top it with cheese, croutons, avocado, hard-boiled egg, etc. Add some dressing and you’re all done! But, no-bake actually just means no baking. There still might be some stove-top cooking needed – or even a microwave, for that matter.
To prepare this Chocolate Dipped Dried Fruit, you will need to use your microwave. So, even though they’re no-bake and kid-friendly, you will still need some way to melt the chocolate. You could use a stovetop too. I’d still consider this recipe to be no-bake!
Some other no-bake-type holiday recipes you might enjoy are these Rudolph’s Red Nose Cookies. Hairy Moose Droppings are delicious and always quite the conversation starter! Just like these Caramel Peanut Slices were a favourite of my mom’s so were these Marshmallow Coconut Balls and so were these Christmas Crunch Cookies. You can find many more no-bake cookie recipes here at Lord Byron’s Kitchen by using the search field at the top of this page.
