On the first day of Christmas, Lord Byron’s Kitchen gave to me, 12 Festive Holiday Cocktail recipes to help keep me smiling throughout the hustle and bustle! Consider this post, Dear Reader, my holiday gift to you!

I’m suggesting that this particular post is an advent calendar for the moms and dads out there who have to deal with all of the excitement, stress, and chaos that can surround a Christmas filled with overly excited kids. My daughter is 18 years old now, but I remember the stress of finding the perfect toy. I remember waiting for her to finally go to sleep so that something she asked for could be assembled. And, I most certainly remember trying to get through Christmas Day without a nap, because she had us awake super early!
I’m most certainly not suggesting that you consume alcohol to get you through the holidays, but a cocktail each day seems like moderation to me! Moreover, you could save these recipes and set up a little drink station or bar at your home. When entertaining this season, you could offer more choices or options.
If you really want to impress your guests, why not pick two or three of these cocktail recipes and commit them to memory. Then, offer one up to a guest and show off your bartending skills! A little fun will never hurt anyone, but please drink responsibly!

REMEMBER TO SPREAD CHRISTMAS CHEER!
Finally, not everyone is fortunate enough to celebrate Christmas the way others might. So, if you know someone who might not be a parent, Christmastime can be just as stressful for them. There are many things that can cause a stressful holiday, not just super excited kids. It can be financially stressful for some people. It can be depressing or upsetting for others. And, in some cases, it can be lonely. Do your best to share some goodies or cheer with those who might be less fortunate. And, if you can, choose a local charity and make a donation. For some smaller charities, every dollar helps!
Without further hesitation, here are 12 Festive Holiday Cocktails that are easy to prepare and delicious too! Please note, each of the 12 cocktails in this post has its very own recipe card. As soon as you see a picture of a bar or square that you like, just click on the green highlighted box that says “CHECK OUT THE RECIPE.” A new window will open in your browser so that you don’t lose your place on this page. No searching, no downloading, each and every recipe is just a click away. Let’s get to it! Also, I’m not sponsored by Mcguinness at all, but I do use this brand of liqueurs quite often. LCBO has a great selection!

There you have it, Dear Reader! John.e and I enjoyed sipping on these as I prepared each one. They were all good, but we did have favourites. I think he liked Bailey’s Irish Cream Hot Cocoa the best. He is not a lover of alcohol at all, but he finished the whole thing! I love hot chocolate, but I can’t drink too much of it, because I don’t do well with things that are sweet. My favourite was without a doubt the Holiday Cranberry Cocktail! That one is phenomenal!
I do hope you enjoy these festive drinks over the holidays. And, as I said previously, please drink responsibly! Cheers!
