Here are 14 recipes that celebrate everything red, white, and blue just in time for Independence Day! If you’re hosting a backyard BBQ or attending a local community picnic potluck this 4th of July, this collection has something everyone will love!

Whipping up deliciously fun and festive desserts and sharing the recipe with you is how I celebrate the 4th of July with my readers to the south. I’ve mentioned before that about half of the readers and subscribers of Lord Byron’s Kitchen are from the United States. In comparison to the rest of the world’s population, that is quite high. I can’t tell you why Americans seem to love food blogs, but I’m happy that they do! So, I’m putting together some of my favourites in this collection of 14 Red White and Blue 4th of July Recipes!
That is why I have no issues with publishing recipes that celebrate America’s Independence Day. People ask me why I do it and the answer is simple – it’s food! Food is synonymous with celebrations and holidays and I’m a food blogger. If a particular cuisine is one I feel comfortable with, I’ll work on a recipe which celebrates it.
And besides, no matter where you live, you can adapt many of these recipes accordingly and use foods that represent the colours of your national flag. If, by chance, you are Canadian and landed on this page looking for red and white-themed Canadian recipes, click here!
Now, believe it or not, almost every time I share a recipe that celebrates another culture or country, someone will take the time to send me an email telling me I shouldn’t do it. So, yes, I’m not American. I’m Canadian. But, that doesn’t matter when it comes to food and food-related celebrations. Food is like music. It transcends boundaries, language, and borders. And, why shouldn’t I – the Canadian – partake in these colourful and expressive recipes? After all, I was raised to be kind, courteous, and respectful to my neighbours.
