Everyone knows that a bedding ensemble is not complete without a throw cushion of some sort, right? Or is that just me? 🙂 When I finished the Sunburst Granny Blanket, and then the Granny Square Reversible Pillow Shams, I needed to have a throw pillow as well.
Funny story – when John.e and I had been living together for a few months and started to accumulate household items together, one of the things he couldn’t quite wrap his mind around was my need, no, obsession for throw pillows. Once, just to prove to him that normal people had throw pillows on their bed, I posted the question to my friends on Facebook. I asked, “How many throw cushions/decorative pillows do you have on your bed?” At the time, we had 6 of them on our bed. Well, I was so happy when people started posting a response to the question, because, in fact, most of the responses answered with at least 3 – but, one awesome person answered that she had 11 on her bed. (She’s now my hero!)
At the end of the day, I won the battle of the pillows, and I never hear him complain about it at all. At least not out loud. 🙂
To make this crocheted block cushion, I used the same pattern I found on a crocheting blog called LadyBird, but unfortunately, that blog has been removed. But, the pattern is extremely simple. I won’t write out the pattern here. It’s basically a granny square in a solid colour which has been crocheted together in uniform pattern using a single crochet stitch.
