There are two types of people in this world. The first are those who love Valentine’s Day. They decorate their office cubicles and their homes with pink cardboard cut-outs of hearts and cupids. They are the same people who send flowers to their besties and have flowers delivered to them at the office – you know they type; those huge bouquets of overly priced flowers which permeate the office with the perfumed scent of summer in a cellophane wrapper. Then, they rush home from work to prepare a lovely dinner, or go out to a romantic movie, or snuggle up on the couch with a box of chocolates (in a heart-shaped box, of course!) and a bottle of wine.
The second type are those who despise Valentine’s Day. They will do the bah, humbug thing when you mention the day. Like an older couple who doesn’t want to be bothered on Halloween, their lights are out and the curtains are drawn. They close themselves off from the world, and watch a horror movie, or something non-romantic, while polishing off an entire pizza and a diet coke. They avoid the chocolate aisle at the drug store; they steer clear of all greeting card stores; and they refuse to pretend to be happy for anyone who’s crazy in love.
Me? Well, I’ll never tell, but what I will tell you is that no matter what type of person you are on February 14th, you gotta eat! This post has got you covered!
